Business Development in the Nordics
Do you view the Nordic market as an interesting opportunity for business growth? Is your company looking to expand in the Nordics or beyond?
Arcada is the only university of applied sciences (UAS) in Finland with a Master’s degree programme that focuses on the Nordic business environment. While we examine Nordic countries in particular, these learnings can also be applied in a broader context. The focus is on both theoretical and practical means for geographical expansion, as well as business opportunities in Nordic countries. We work with practical and real market entry business cases, analysed from inception to implementation.
The module is divided into three separate courses consisting of 5 ECTS each. These are:
1. Analyzing the Nordic Business Environment
2. Planning and Preparing Market Entry in a Nordic Country
3. Establishing and Developing a Market Position in a Nordic Country
During the module, we analyse the Nordic markets and cultural differences within the Nordic area. You will also gain the ability to plan and execute activities for entering a market, both within and outside the Nordics. You will get practical tools for analyzing, planning, establishing, and developing the position of a company in a both a Nordic and international setting. The module will also serve as a platform for networking with professionals in the industry.
Learning methods for the course include lectures, guest lectures, workshops, case studies, and other assignments. You will also get the opportunity to pitch your market entry plan to a real business panel - our very own Lion's Den!
Four reasons to choose these studies:
1. No other similar courses are offered in Finland
2. This is a great stepping stone for future studies at Master's level, e.g., the Arcada Master's Degree Programme in International Business Management
3. Lecturers and instructors have substantial hands-on industry experience
4. Fellow attendees have diverse backgrounds and experience that will make your learning experience even more valuable
